Papa Huia Iti

Small and intricately decorated, this little box makes a beautiful ring box. Although its uses are many, we think it would be an extra special box to pop the question with, or to keep your treasured keepsakes safe. The lid lifts off and the inside of the lid is smooth enough to be engraved with a special name or date.

Crafted from recycled NZ Rimu timber, this box showcases an engraved pūhoro design, reminiscent of patterns on waka and in Ta Moko. Merging modern form with Māori artistry, it bridges contemporary and traditional realms, exuding authenticity and cultural significance.

The pūhoro design is reminiscent of the ripples and swirls created by a paddle strike, propelling the waka through water. It symbolises agility, speed, and dexterity, qualities essential for a warrior. Additionally, the design represents movement, journey, and the momentum of life.
